Products

While purchasing one of our products, we would like our customers to keep in mind that our ceramic wares are hand-thrown, jewelry pieces are hand-fabricated, and candles are hand-poured. Because of this, there is slight variation in size, color, and capacity from product to product. We like to think this makes each piece more remarkable as each one has its own subtly unique divergence, but we do our best to keep them as uniform as possible.

Shipping

Purchased items are shipped within 1-3 business days via USPS. Our packaging materials are all 100% recyclable. We do not include a paper receipt with purchases unless specifically requested. Receipts are sent electronically to a customer's e-mail after checkout. Any packages that have been lost by the mail carrier can be brought to the attention of USPS as we are not responsible for lost or stolen packages.

Returns

We do accept returns and exchanges. If a customer is unsatisfied with their purchase, they can first notify us via e-mail: amelia@sumawares.com. If a customer is returning an item, they will be responsible for paying the shipping fee. Once the item/s have been returned and prove to be in their original condition, we will issue a full refund (not including the shipping fee). Exchanges will be handled through e-mail correspondence.

Care

Ceramics: All of our ceramic wares are food-safe, dishwasher-safe, and microwave-safe. The ceramic candle pots can be reused as a drinking or eating vessel upon completion of the cleaning instructions that are written in each ceramic candle description.
Jewelry: With most of our jewelry pieces, we recommend storing them in a safe space. Felt-lined jewelry boxes and bags are best to prevent premature tarnishing. One of the most effective and gentle ways to clean fine jewelry at home is to fill a bowl with lukewarm water and mild dish soap. Then, using a soft bristle toothbrush, gently clean the piece. We recommend extra tender cleaning for jewelry made with gemstones as to not loosen or scratch them.
Candle Care & Safety: Wooden wicks have a tendency to burn at a slower rate than cotton wicks. Because of this, it's important that upon a candle's first burn to let it burn for a few hours or until the melted wax reaches the very edge of the ceramic or glass vessel. Wax has "memory" and this will prevent the candle from tunneling. Each burn thereafter, trim the unlit wick to about 1/4''. Keep candles free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings. Keep away from flammable objects, children, and pets. Burn on a level, fire resistant surface. Stop use when 1/4'' wax remains; this is usually when the top of the wick anchor becomes level with the wax.
